This week, excavation work is expected to start on Waite Street. You may notice increased activity on Waite Street as crews prepare for in-street excavation in the coming weeks. You may also notice work taking place on National Grid property on the corner of Waite Street and Ferry Street intermittently during the week. Parking on Waite Street, Ferry Street, and Pierce Avenue will be limited to allow for greater access for National Grid and its contractors. Additionally, traffic on Waite Street could be expected to slow due to work in the street. During workdays, you may notice equipment and materials moving in and out of the worksite via Bridge Street. Excavation work and work at the substation will take place between the hours of 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Our weekly newsletter remains one of the easiest ways to stay up to date with the latest project information related to construction schedules, timelines, and traffic. If you know of neighbors, family, or friends who may be interested in having these weekly updates sent straight to their email inbox, please feel free to encourage them to sign up here (at the bottom of the homepage).
Please know that we remain committed to prioritizing public health as well as the health of employees and contractors. National Grid has taken several steps to modify our business practices and daily operations to protect the communities in which we work. We have enacted additional policies and guidelines for our field and office personnel that are in line with the Commonwealth’s Guidelines and Procedures for construction as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines.
