Work on National Grid property on the corner of Waite Street and Ferry Street in Salem will continue intermittently this week. In the coming weeks, crews will be digging test pits on Waite Street and Peirce Avenue. The purpose of this work is to locate existing utilities and confirm proposed manhole locations along the sections of the above-mentioned streets. Parking on Waite Street and Ferry Street will be limited to allow for greater access for National Grid and its contractors. During workdays, you may notice equipment and materials moving in and out of the worksite via Bridge Street. Work hours at this location are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Please know that we remain committed to prioritizing public health as well as the health of employees and contractors. National Grid has taken several steps to modify our business practices and daily operations to protect the communities in which we work. We have enacted additional policies and guidelines for our field and office personnel that are in line with the Commonwealth’s Guidelines and Procedures for construction as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines.
