Construction Process

The Beverly Regional Transmission Reliability Project will replace the existing, aging cables with new, modern cables installed within a concrete duct bank, and manhole system. Typically, you can expect to see construction activity from excavators, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, and cranes over the course of excavation as well as duct bank and manhole installation.
Duct Bank and Manhole Construction Method:

We plan to construct the new cable and substation safely, reliably, and efficiently while acting as good neighbors and sharing information widely so that we can continue serving the community for decades to come.

Throughout the project, National Grid and its contractors will make every possible effort to update residents and businesses about upcoming activities, impacts and traffic management, and maintain an open and proactive dialogue about the project with our neighbors and our partners in Beverly and Salem.
