We’d like to provide a status update on the Beverly Regional Transmission Reliability Project. Excavation work is complete, and 7 of 10 sections of transmission cable have now been installed.
Work will continue in February and early March at manholes along the project route as crews install and splice transmission and communications cables and perform tests. This work does not involve excavation. Traffic may be diverted around the manhole locations during work hours.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with some crews continuing work between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM on Saturdays and/or Sundays as approved by the City of Beverly. Please let us know about any upcoming deliveries or special events that we can prepare to assist you with.

- -Manhole #3 (Beverly, on Congress Street, near the MBTA tracks)*
- -River Street Substation (Beverly)*
- -Manhole #7 (Beverly, near 2 Monument Square)
- -Manhole #8 (Beverly, near 79 Hale Street)*
- -Manhole #9 (Beverly, near 203 Lothrop Street)*
- -Manhole #10 (Beverly, near 55 Cross Lane)
- -Manhole #11 (Beverly, near 100 Cross Lane)*
- -Boyles Street Substation (Beverly)*
*Work is scheduled at these locations on Saturday, February 8. No work will take place on Sunday, February 9, due to forecasted snow.
At times, work vehicles may need to stage outside of active worksites for traffic management purposes.
Please note that parking may be limited and/or through-traffic may be detoured on the following streets: Congress, Hale, East Lothrop, Monument Square, and Cross Lane in Beverly, and Bridge Street in Salem. Residents will always be able to access their homes and driveways with assistance from police details, crew members, and traffic signage.
At times, construction equipment generates noise that will be noticeable to abutters. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we perform these critical infrastructure upgrades.
